Jersey Shore star Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has admitted he has a prescription pill problem.
“I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion,” the 29-year-old wrote on his Web site.
“I have spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule. I appreciate my fans support and love you guys.”
While his rep has said he’s not in a rehab facility, TMZ is reporting that he is indeed at Cirque Lodge in Utah, whose alums include Lindsay Lohan and Mary-Kate Olsen.
According to TMZ, “The Situation is walking around Cirque, telling people he’s gained weight — and has made specific diet requests from the chef at the facility, hoping to get back into shape for the 6th Season of Jersey Shore.”
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino‘s publicist has slammed a TMZ report claiming the Jersey Shore star is in rehab for substance abuse.
According to a new E! report, the rep denies any claims that the reality TV star entered rehab for substance abuse, saying “He has spent the past several weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule.”
And The Situation took to Twitter this evening, to also vaguely slam the report. He tweeted, “Getting in amazing shape for season 6…Don’t believe everything you read or hear.”
Still, he sounds ready for action, tweeting: “Getting in amazing shape for season 6.”

Demi Moore left Utah’s Cirque Lodge rehab earlier this week, and at the time, it was reported she was “on vacation” at an undisclosed location.
But it’s no longer a secret: She’s on Parrot Cay in the Caribbean’s Turks & Caicos islands, E! is reporting. Demi was spotted earlier this week on the beach of a private villa. Her villa is only accessible by boat, and Demi has been surrounded round-the-clock.
“She’s just been chilling out,” a source tells E!.
Parrot Cay is also familiar territory for Demi, who vacations there often: Her ex-husband Bruce Willis has a house there.
Demi Moore has left rehab at Utah’s Cirque Lodge, E! is reporting.
A source tells E! that Demi is now “on vacation” at undisclosed location.
“She’s in no rush to get back to L.A.,” the source says. “She’s on total lockdown and only talking to a small group of people.”
Demi checked into rehab after her brief hospitalization after she suffered a seizure-like episode during a party at her L.A. home on Jan. 23.
Demi’s rep isn’t commenting.
This is a bit of a surprise: Gerard Butler has been in rehab for the past three weeks.
He’s seeking treatment for substance abuse at the Betty Ford Center, according to TMZ.
So what were Gerard’s vice of choice? “Butler realized he was relying too much on prescription drugs and decided to head off a full-blown addiction by entering Betty Ford…Butler also developed issues with cocaine, but the root problem appears to be the injuries and pain management,” reports TMZ.
Butler’s problems kicked in 2006 from the stress of shooting 300, and then he got hooked on pain pills after suffering injuries.
He’s slated to leave rehab today.
