New York Fashion Week has begun!
And the most important task for show organizers is who to sit in the front row, or rather which celebs
A slew of celebs are in town — including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Kellan Lutz, Shia LaBeouf, Lindsay Lohan and many others are in town — there’s always the hunt for the most-sought after celeb.
This season it’s emerging fashion star Lana Del Rey, fashion show organizer-publicist Alison Brod tells the New York Daily News.
“Everyone has been trying to get her,” Alison says. But Lana’s rep says the singer won’t be in NYC, but L.A., performing.
Who else would be a dream front-row guest? “Angelina Jolie and Demi Moore or Katy Pery would be great this season because they’re in the news,” says Kelly Cutrone.
Lana Del Rey lashed out at critics of her January 14 Saturday Night Live appearance last night — sort of!
In fact, it was SNL cast member Kristen Wiig who appeared as the singer during the “Weekend Update” segment on last night’s show, hosted by Channing Tatum.
“I thought [I sang two songs], but based on the public’s response, I must have clubbed a baby seal while singing the Taliban national anthem,” Wiig, as Rey, told Seth Meyers. “I am not here to defend my performance. The public has spoken and I have to accept that.”
She added, “I think people thought I was stiff, distant and weird, but there’s a perfectly good explanation for that: I am stiff, distant and weird!” she said.
Lana Del Rey is making a comeback from her widely-criticized recent Saturday Night Live appearance. First, her new album is getting good reviews, and now, she’s gracing the March cover of British Vogue.
