JUST IN: ‘GCB’ Ratings Jump 5 Percent….Beats ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ & ‘CSI: Miami’

America loves its Good Christian Bitches!

ABC’s GCB — starring Kristin Chenoweth — may be the target of a so-called family values boycott, but the ratings show no sign of disdain for the show.

Ratings for last night’s episode were 5 percent higher than last week’s.

Plus, last week the show was #2 in its 10 p.m. timeslot, after Celebrity Apprentice and CSI: Miami. This week, it nabbed the #1 spot.

ABC’s “GCB” got off to a so-so start last week, but last night it showed a bit of growth.

The second episode of the new drama averaged a 2.3 adults 18-49 rating in its 10 p.m. timeslot, according to Nielsen overnights, up 5 percent from the 2.2 the series premiere averaged last week.

The show finished first in its timeslot, just edging out the 2.2 NBC averaged for the second half of “Celebrity Apprentice” and the 2.1 CBS averaged for “CSI: Miami.” Last week “GCB” finished second in the slot behind “Apprentice.”

VOTE: Do You Agree With Kraft’s Decision To Pulls ITs Ads From ‘GCB?’

Not everyone thinks GCB —based on the book Good Christian Bitches — is so good.

Kraft Foods has decided to yank its Philadelphia Cream Cheese commercials. In a statement it said, “Philadelphia has decided to pull its advertising from ‘GCB’ . . . We have received a few complaints from consumers and their opinions about our advertising are important to us.”

FASHION WEEK PHOTOS: Front Row At Diet Pepsi Style Studio…Debra Messing, Mary-Kate Olsen & More

Yes, Diet Pepsi and Fashion Week do indeed mix well together!

At Lincoln Center’s The Box Thursday night, the Diet Pepsi Style Studio Fashion Show was held, presented by Simon Doonan (Barneys New York’s “Creative Ambassador-At-Large”) with stage design by his partner, home design guru Jonathan Adler. The runway and front rows were created by placing a slab of material over a series of stacked Pepsi cans, while fabric lanterns above were covered in a stylized Pepsi logo. A pair of bars at opposite ends served champagne — and, of course, Diet Pepsi served with the cutest straws covered in Pepsi logos.

Who was in the front row? Mary-Kate Olsen (unlike the previous night, sister Ashley didn’t join), Debra Messing, Kristin Chenoweth, Kelly Rutherford, Food Network‘s Sandra Lee, Angela Simmons, Jay Manuel, America’s Next Top Model‘s Jay Alexander, GCB‘s Jennifer Aspen, and Jonathan Cheban, who’s launching his own menswear collection during Fashion week. Fashion week regulars Marjorie Gubelman and Fern Mallis also attended.

Diet Pepsi teamed up with Doonan, the show’s director and curator, and gave four up-and-coming designers the opportunity to present their collections. The show featured three themed fall looks from each designer “with their unique hometown perspective,” according to organizers. Some pieces with metallic finishes were inspired by the long-and-lean Diet Pepsi can.
